Care and Maintenance

Replacement window and door maintenance and cleaning

Infinity's replacement windows and doors with Ultrex® are a virtually maintenance-free product, but life happens. A few annual checks, and regular cleaning, will help keep your Infinity windows and doors operating smoothly and keep your home comfortable for years to come.
Inspect weatherstrip

Weatherstrip is a resilient material designed to act as a barrier in the space between the sash and frame to reduce air and water infiltration. Contact your local independent Infinity partner if your weatherstrip is damaged and requires replacement.

Examine finish

Examine your window or door’s interior and exterior finish. Periodic cleaning can extend the life of your finish.

Monitor exterior caulking

Inspect the exterior caulking around the outer edges of the window frame. Trim off any old, loose caulking and seal any gaps with a good quality caulk.

Check hardware operation

Check all hardware (locks, opening mechanisms, etc.) for smooth operation.

Tighten screws

Inspect exposed hardware screws and tighten if loose.

Clean moving parts

Clean any sand, dirt or dust from door and window hinges, sills and tracks.

Safety tip

When performing maintenance, always use caution on ladders. And don't forget to wear protective eyewear and clothing. When working with cleaning solutions, follow all recommended safety precautions and dispose of these materials according to the manufacturer's instructions.
