Southern Charm, Modern Efficiency: Infinity Windows Transform a Traditional Georgia Home

When a family in Roswell, Georgia, decided to renovate their traditional-style home, one thing was clear: the old wood windows had to go. Not only were they outdated, but they were also drafty, making the home less energy efficient.

Patio door and window replacement transformation

The transformation began by replacing 36 aging wood windows. Some of the original double hung windows, which opened from both top and bottom, were swapped for casement windows that crank open, offering a more modern look and better airflow.

One of the most exciting upgrades? A set of windows was converted into a four-panel sliding patio door, opening the back of the home and creating a beautiful connection to the outdoors.

A bold new look with thoughtful details

To elevate the home’s curb appeal, the homeowners chose a striking Ebony exterior finish, a bold shift from the original white. On the front of the home, they added half-inch Simulated Divided Lites (SDLs) in a refreshed grid pattern, blending traditional charm with a modern twist. Meanwhile, the back of the home features clean, grid-free glass for a simpler look and to help keep the project costs lower. This thoughtful mix of design choices helped balance style, function, and budget.

Glass glazing selection

With Georgia’s warm, sunny weather in mind, the homeowners selected Low-E3 glass — a high-performance glazing option that reflects solar heat while allowing natural light to pour in. It’s a smart choice for southern climates, helping to keep the interior of the home cooler and more comfortable.

Real results: Smaller energy bills, bigger views

The entire project was completed in one smooth phase through North Georgia Replacement Windows.

Since the installation, the homeowners have noticed that their home is quieter inside thanks to better sound insulation, they have bigger views and enjoy more natural light, and they’ve noticed a dramatic drop in their monthly energy bills from $480 per month prior to replacing their windows to around $270 per month after replacing their windows with Infinity by Marvin products.
